Jake-O-683x1024Jake Old is a former journalist and current law student. He received his B.S. in Journalism from Middle Tennessee State University in 2012, and anticipates receiving his Juris Doctor from Belmont University College of Law in 2020.

From 2012-2017, Old wrote for The Tennessean, The Mountain Press, The Advertiser News of Spring Hill and Thompson Station, and The Lebanon Democrat. During that time, he won multiple Tennessee Press Association awards for news coverage and feature writing.

During his time in law school, Old has interned with the 16th Judicial District Attorney’s Office and the Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and The Cumberlands. He serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Belmont Criminal Law Journal.

Old is also a longtime guitar player and singer/songwriter. He previously served as the front man for The End-Evers, a Middle Tennessee-based rock band.
